Volunteer Roles Currently Available
We are looking for volunteers to help with our marketing, fundraising and with events. If you’re interested in volunteering in any of the following areas listed below, click on the links under each position to find out more. For each role we are anticipating 5 – 10 hours per week but is flexible depending on availability and the requirements of the role from time to time. Work can be performed independently as convenient to the incumbent but you may need to be available at times for a 1 – 1.5 hour Management Committee meeting held every 6 – 8 weeks on a Thursday evening. Communication with the team is often via email/phone and online meetings. We are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum 6 month period for continuity and momentum in each of these roles.

Marketing Coordinator – We’re seeking someone with an interest in the community engagement and digital marketing to volunteer as a Marketing Coordinator. Your objective will be to improve communication between LFC and the general community, and draw a higher brand recognition for the organisation.
This hands-on role will give you the opportunity to work closely with the team as well as clients and the general public to raise awareness for those with learning disabilities and to reach out to those who need support.

Fundraising Coordinator – We’re looking for someone with an interest in finance and networking to secure and grow a diverse range of funding streams and plan key strategies to grow the LFC.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with the team as well network with a broad range of stakeholders including local, regional and state organisations, strategic partners and event speakers/guests to secure funding, plan and host important events and raise awareness for those with learning disabilities. The role would ideally be supported by coordinators in both marketing and events and include pursuing funding opportunities from a range of organisations, preparing and writing grants and generating ongoing funding streams such as workplace giving/other regular giving.

Events Coordinator – Do you have an interest in the events industry and would like to work as an events coordinator? Your objective will be to organise fundraising events and plan key strategies to grow the LFC.
This hands-on role will give you opportunity to collaborate with the marketing and fundraising coordinators as well as important guests & speakers to plan and host important events to raise awareness for those with learning disabilities.

Membership allows you to nominate for officeholder positions, serve on the Management Committee and have voting rights at the AGM you need to join as a member. Membership is free.
Management Committee and Other Support Roles
The Management Committee meets online approximately every 6 weeks for 1 – 1.5 hours. We are always looking for people to contribute in the areas of clincial/ educational expertise, grant writing/securing funding streams, digital marketing, events, community engagement, technical/systems support, assisting applicants with enquiries, financial/general administration and other areas.
